Putin denies dancing to Abba hits

It was a nice day. The four-member group says Mr Putin and about seven other guests, including a woman, were present at the concert, but they sat on a sofa veiled by a curtain.

“It was the smallest audience we have ever performed to but Mr Putin was really enjoying it, shouting ‘Bravo’ and clapping with the others,” Aileen McLaughlin, who performs as Abba’s blonde Agnetha Faltskog, was quoted as saying by the Times newspaper.

“He [Putin] was dancing along in his seat to Super Trouper and raised his hands in the air during Mamma Mia when we asked the audience to,” she said.

Bjorn Again says it performed 15 Abba songs during the private gig, claiming that it was paid by the Kremlin.

Mr Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied that the prime minister attended any such concert.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who succeeded Mr Putin last May, is a well-known fan of British band Deep Purple.

Last year, Mr Medvedev attended a concert by the British rockers to mark the 15th anniversary of the founding of Gazprom

SENATORS AGREE ECONOMY BILL-US

Senior Democrats say they will back a plan worth $780bn (£534bn), instead of the $900bn sought by the president, in order to gain vital Republican support.

President Barack Obama denounced delays to the legislation, which mixes big spending plans and tax cuts.

The Senate is now due to hold a vote in the coming days.

President Obama has spoken of “an urgent and growing crisis” and said further Senate delays would be “inexcusable and irresponsible” and lead to “a catastrophe”.

His comments came as the latest unemployment figures showed that the US had had its single worst month for job losses for 35 years.

Almost 600,000 people lost their jobs in January alone – figures Mr Obama described as devastating.

My way of becoming billionaire

Once while I was surfing the net I came across the topic World Richest Billionaires. Bill Gates used to be the no:1 for past few years. But a man named Warren Buffett is now the leading billionaire in the world. When I read about his history so that I can get some ideas to become rich, I found he became wealthy by means of real investment.

He is having a vast experience in the real estate and share market. Even am aspiring to become rich. I have finished my U.G course last year. Now the real investment field impresses me a lot. But before entering into the field I should have some technical knowledge. To gain this knowledge I should study in some reputed university.

I know Nouveau Riche to be the famous college in Real Estate Investment. Nouveau Riche offers many courses within various curriculum paths. Each Nouveau Riche college course has been designed to teach you “how-to” real estate investment concepts and strategies.

I think it is the right college for gaining my experience. I have found Nouveau Riche is maintaining a community that would help like minded people to discuss, share common goals and interest. They are conducting many case studies, classroom discussion and role-playing exercises that will aid my information retention.

I hope in near future I too would become a billionaire.

HIJACKER TO BE AN ARMED TERRORIST

Why did Jitendra Kumar Mohala, a 42-year-old chartered accountant and

son of a retired air commodore, go berserk inside IndiGo’s
Goa-Delhi flight on Sunday
afternoon, claiming to be an armed hijacker from a terror outfit and subjecting the flight crew to a torrent of terror talk?

While investigators are still grappling with the question, details emerging from the hijack drama reveal that the four airhostesses in the flight acted with remarkable poise to prevent the situation getting out of hand.

While clearly shaken, the women — all petite and in their early 20s — did not let the 162 passengers know what was happening to avoid an outbreak of panic 34,000 feet above sea level. They just kept the pilot informed and the collective calm of the crew helped bring the plane down safely.

The airline management and the four airhostesses — Jyoti Chetri, Neha Gogia, Neha Chakaria and Achal Mehra — met DGCA joint DG A K Chopra along with IB officials on Monday to give a detailed report of what transpired on the flight.

The account is chilling. “Mohala claimed to be carrying weapons and said he had two other associates on board. He said he was involved in the Kandahar hijack as well,” said a highly placed source present at the DGCA briefing.

Sources claimed Mohala — who, contrary to earlier reports, wasn’t drunk — started his strange behaviour while the plane had begun taxing in Goa. He reportedly claimed to be different things — a DGCA official, a sky marshal, a pilot — but nothing was as scary as his claim of being a hijacker.

“He claimed to belong to a terror group called Maula and told an airhostess that he was carrying a pouch of infected needles that, if pricked, could sedate people. He also tried to reach out to one crew member’s neck and point to a nerve that is cut to make people bleed to death,” said sources.

Psychologists say Mohala could be suffering from frustration aggression syndrome, which manifests itself in sudden bouts of violence behaviour. He has been remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody. He has been booked under sections 336 (endangering life and personal safety of others) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, as well as Suppression of Unlawful Act Against Safety Of Civil Aviation Act, 1982, which is non-bailable.

The other two persons detained along with Mohala — Sameer Uppal and Harmeet Anand — were released by Sunday late evening after questioning because there was nothing to suggest that they were active participants in the incident.

Sources said, during the flight, the chartered accountant made a dash to the front end of the aircraft where airhostesses were seated. “The crew got very scared but at the last minute, Mohala went inside the lavatory and locked himself there for some time. He went to the toilet many times. He also kept changing his seat during the flight,” said sources.

IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh commended the airhostesses’ conduct. “The challenge for them was to keep each other informed of what was going on without spreading panic among passengers. They, along with the pilot, did an amazing job of keeping calm while assuming all along that the unruly passenger could be armed,” Ghosh said.

The flight’s commander, captain Amit Singh, also played safe. At 5.15pm, he told Delhi ATC on common frequency that an unruly passenger was creating ruckus on the plane while asking for priority landing. Suspecting something was wrong, the alert ATC official left this plane’s frequency on so that they could hear what’s transpiring in the cockpit.

“This way, the ATC heard Captain Singh’s conversation with the four airhostesses and thought they could have a hijack situation. Then the pilot asked for a discreet frequency as all planes use common frequency on final approach to hear what’s going on in the sky and ground around them. This collective approach of the airhostesses, pilot and ATC ensured no one — passengers and other aircraft — knew about the unfolding midair terror drama,” said sources

OBAMA ON BUSH ERA

Despite promises that torture would be history in the new administration with pulling

the shutters on Guantanamo Bay detention centre, US
President Barack Obama has
left intact a programme that gives the CIA authority to carry out rendition flights, media reports said on Monday.

In his first few days in office, Obama was lauded for rejecting policies of the Bush era, but it has emerged the CIA still has the authority to carry out renditions in which suspects are picked up and often sent to a third country for questioning, reports the Telegraph.

The practice caused outrage at the EU, after it was revealed the CIA had used secret prisons in Romania and Poland and airports such as Prestwick in Scotland to conduct up to 1,200 rendition flights. The European Parliament called renditions “an illegal instrument used by the United States”.

According to a detailed reading of the executive orders signed by Obama on January 22, renditions have not been outlawed, with the new administration deciding it needs to retain some devices in Bush’s anti-terror arsenal amid continued threats to US national security.

In the executive orders Obama merely promised a review of rendition policy, with the intention of ensuring that suspects were not sent to other countries “to face torture”.

“Obviously you need to preserve some tools — you still have to go after the bad guys,” an administration official told the Los Angeles Times.

“The legal advisers working on this looked at rendition. It is controversial in some circles and kicked up a big storm in Europe. But if done within certain parameters, it is an acceptable practice.”

Khaled Masri, a German citizen, was arrested in Macedonia in 2003 and taken to Afghanistan for five months before the CIA realised it had made a mistake. The Italians sought to prosecute CIA operatives who had arrested Abu Omar, an Egyptian cleric, and flew him to Egypt where he claimed he was tortured.

Submit your site to Open directories

I am working in a web designing company. I have little knowledge in SEO concepts. SEO is nothing but search engine optimization. SEO is useful in displaying our site in the front pages of Google. Suppose if I maintain a site in the shopping field when some users try to search for best shopping sites, my site should be displayed in the front.

So SEO is an important criteria. The best way to improve your site’s status in the search result is to submit it to many open directories. There are many such directories for example free web directories. The submission of your site in these directories not only help in increasing your site’s status in the search results but also help to increase the traffic of your site.

Backlinks of your site too would increase. If you are having a good backlink, quality content and reasonable traffic then Google would increase the page rank of your site. So those who want to promote your site, it is better to submit in many free web directories.

PAKISTAN ON MUMBAI TERROR ATTACK

A team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted its preliminary probe report regarding the Mumbai attacks, minister of state for interior, Tasnim Ahmad Qureshi, told reporters during a visit to National Police Foundation.

“The report would soon be made public at a suitable time, possibly within a week,” Qureshi said. Top Pakistani leaders have said the law, interior and foreign ministries are currently vetting the report submitted by a three-member team of the FIA.

Pakistan’s high commissioner to India, Shahid Malik, arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for consultations on finalising the country’s response to the Indian dossier on the Mumbai attacks. Malik arrived this morning following summons from the Foreign Office to return to help finalise Pakistan’s response.

The high commissioner is expected to meet interior ministry chief Rehman Malik, law minister Farooq Naek and foreign secretary Salman Bashir to discuss India’s response to questions Pakistan had posed after receiving the Indian dossier, sources said. India’s replies will be used to finalise Pakistan’s response, they added.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s deputy high commissioner to India arrived at North Block to meet officials there. Although the mandate of the meet is not clear, sources have confirmed that a strong message was given to Masood in a bid to expedite Pakistan’s response to India’s 26/11 dossier.

Earlier, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has already made it clear that Pakistan will take action under its own laws against any persons found guilty of involvement in the Mumbai attacks and they will not be handed over to India.

Foreign minister Qureshi also said that Pakistan wants to restore normal relations with India. Bilateral talks on all issues, including Kashmir, will resume only after ties are normalised, he said. Qureshi made it clear that negotiations are the “only solution to conflicts” between India and Pakistan. Fiery speeches on both sides will not help resolve issues, he said.

BEST SUPPLEMENT TO KEEP FIT

I am going to gym for the past 2 years. I like to build my muscles and I initially took lot of supplements in order to increase my muscles. But I didn’t get the required. Then I asked my master as to which supplement I should follow in order to improve my muscle. I also heard about Fenphedra through one of my friends. But I didn’t use it initially. But master gave me suggestion as to take Fenphedra as supplement in order to be fit and look healthy. Other branded items have some side effects in it. But this supplement doesn’t have any side effects as it is produced with Di-Caffeine Malate, Synephrine and Phenylethylamine (PEA). My master is also using this one for past 2 years and he looks fit and healthy at now.

NO MORE PAKISTAN ON IPL

After the Indian government called off the cricket team’s tour of Pakistan in the wake of Mumbai 26/11, it was Pakistan’s turn to reciprocate.

On Monday, Pakistan barred its cricketers from playing in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. IPL commissioner Lalit Modi confirmed at a press conference that no Pakistani player would take part in the upcoming edition and none of them — five were earlier shortlisted — would figure in the auction list.

Eleven Pakistani players took part in the first edition of the league. Of them, four were with Kolkata Knight Riders, three with Team Jaipur while Delhi Daredevils had two players in Shoaib Malik and Mohd Asif. Both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Team Hyderabad had one Pakistani player each in their teams.

“Pakistan’s foreign office has advised national cricketers not to travel to India. This is something which is beyond our control,” Modi said.

The withdrawal of Pakistani cricketers means that the franchisees will not have to pay them this year. “Teams can save the money which they would have paid to the Pakistani players and use it to buy more foreign players in the second auction. Plus, they can spend another $2 million for buying players for the next two years,” Modi explained.

As for the impact on the teams, Jaipur will certainly miss the services of paceman Sohail Tanvir — the highest wicket-taker in last year’s IPL with 21 scalps — and keeper-batsman Kamran Akmal. The defending champions have already lost Australia’s Shane Watson to injury. Kolkata Knight Riders too, will miss paceman Umar Gul.
